Each gift, every year makes a difference!
December 8, 2016
Dear Council Rock Community,
As an educator teaching in the Council Rock School District for the past six years, I am fortunate to have the opportunity to inspire and be inspired by my students each day. It is difficult to capture in words the sheer thrill of discovery and innovation that our students experience during STEM sessions, and yet the power of our program is inescapably evident in their success.
Witnessing such transformational moments underscores my passion for teaching, and energizes our program. Each day my joy and excitement of learning blends with my student’s, making for an unbeatable combination of powerful, effective STEM learning experiences possible through the support and funding from a grant by our Council Rock Education Foundation (CREF).
Each year, gifts to the Foundation’s Annual Fund from donors like you, support innovative “out of the box” ideas that teachers and administrators want to pursue but may not be within the school’s budgetary scope. At Holland Elementary, CREF supports our broad-based STEAM experience, free of charge, to students in grades 2 through 6. For the past three years, more than 1/3 of our entire school population has participated each year in weekly classes; in 2016-17, we will instruct over 175 students! Holland’s program is making an enormous difference, evidencing the effectiveness of the Foundation’s efforts. But this is just one of the many projects that CREF supports throughout our District.
Your gift today to the Council Rock Education Foundation provides an essential foundation of support for innovative S.T.E.A.M. projects that engage young minds, spark curiosity and nurture their passion for continued learning. Please join me by making a gift that truly makes a difference in our children’s lives.
Our program has cultivated an eagerness to learn more and do more, to take chances and dare to dream big. In short, our CREF grant is igniting the imaginations and aspirations of Council Rock students of all levels, and launching their dreams for the future.
Dr. Robert Fraser, our CRSD Superintendent and CREF board member says “Creativity and innovation in the classroom develop those same valuable skills in our students. The Education Foundation plays a vital role in keeping teachers focused on providing new opportunities to all students and engaging our kids in experiential learning opportunities.”
Please consider making a tax-deductible donation to the Council Rock Education Foundation by December 31. We can’t make an impact without you. Whether you give $50, $500 or more, your contribution will make a difference in the lives of our students. Thank you for joining me in supporting our mission to help enrich the curriculum and stimulate creative learning opportunities.
