Available Scholarships for Council Rock Seniors 2019

 

 

This spring, the Council Rock Education Foundation announces two new scholarships available for college-bound CR seniors.

 

 

CR North and South Seniors

  • Partners in Belonging ScholarshipEstablished in 2018 and inspired by Joe Landis, a visionary who dedicated his life’s work to serving individuals with special needs. Through his vision, he developed a holistic model of care—the Belonging Model—based on companionship, caring for mind, body and spirit, appreciating the enthusiastic gifts of all people and membership in community. The mission of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a CRHS – North or South senior(s) seeking a 4-year undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university.  Preference will be given to students who intend to major in the areas of special education and human services. The scholarship principally targets students that demonstrate leadership, social activism and civic engagement in the area of special education and human services.  This year’s award amount is up to $500 (i.e. 2 awards for $250 or 1 award of $500 each). The scholarships are a one-year, non-renewable award

CR South Seniors ONLY

  • The Una Donnelly Memorial Scholarship – Established in 2019 in memory of Una Donnelly, a member of the Class of 2019 at Council Rock High School – South. The mission of the scholarship is to provide financial assistance to a CRHS – South senior(s) seeking a 4-year undergraduate degree at an accredited college or university. Preference will be given to students who intend to major in the areas of Communication, Journalism, or Political Science. The scholarship principally targets students that demonstrate leadership, social activism and civic engagement along with a passion for writing and the arts. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE is based on financial need, academic performance, demonstrated leadership, and engagement in social and civic programs including, but not limited to, community service. This year’s award amount is up to $5,000 (i.e. 2 awards for $2,500 or 5 awards of $1,000 each). The scholarships are a one-year, non-renewable award.

Due to the weekend, closing dates for applications has been extended to April 1st at noon. Applications are available at both high schools through Naviance, from school guidance counselors, or they can be accessed below.
